What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, as it’s otherwise known, is a naturally occurring compound extracted from the cannabis plant. There are many chemicals within the cannabis sativa plant and these are called cannabinoids. Two of the most well-known are THC and CBD.

THC is the psychoactive chemical that produces a ‘high’. CBD however, is not known to cause any psychoactive effects. To be legal in the UK, CBD products must contain less than 0.2% THC and therefore CBD products allow you to experience the benefits of the other cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant without experiencing any psychoactive effects.

CBD oil drops contain cannabidiol suspended in MCT oil and are designed to be taken under the tongue or added to food and drinks. CBD capsules also contain CBD suspended in MCT oil, but are designed to be ingested. Our products can be taken as a food supplement but are not medicines.

If you’d like to find out more, please refer to our blog post, ‘What is CBD Oil?’ for more information on cannabidiol oil.

What are CBD Oil Drops?

Our CBD oil drops contain CBD and other naturally-occurring cannabinoids found in the full-plant extract. They are designed to be administered under the tongue (sublingually).

What are CBD Capsules?

CBD Capsules are simply another method to take your daily dose of CBD. Our softgel capsules are flavourless and contain a measured dose of CBD oil. They provide a convenient alternative to CBD Oil Drops which are designed to be taken under the tongue, or in food and drinks.

What is the Difference Between Hemp Oil and CBD Oil?

Comparing hemp oil vs. CBD oil, the key difference is that the two products come from different parts of the hemp plant. Hemp oil comes from the seeds, and CBD oil can come from stems, leaves and flowers. Read More Here.

Is CBD Legal?

CBD products are legal to buy and sell in the UK, as long as they are derived from one of the 63 industrial hemp strains that have been EU-approved. To be legal for sale in the UK, CBD products must not contain more than 0.2% of the illegal and psychoactive compound, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Find out more in our Blog.

How Do I Know If I’ve Bought From A Reputable Supplier?

We believe that buying the right CBD product matters, so we’ve put together this short guide in our blog

Can CBD Get You ‘High’?

No, CBD oil won’t get you high or cause any psychoactive effects. You can find out more in our Blog.

THC is the psychoactive chemical in the cannabis (aka marijuana or hemp) plant which is responsible for creating a high. Cannabis plants containing high levels of THC are illegal in the UK. The hemp plants which are harvested to create our CBD products contain only traces of THC (less than 0.2%) which will not have any psychoactive effect, and is completely legal.

What is the Percentage Strength of Your CBD Oil?

We go into this in much more detail in our Blog, but we don’t advertise our CBD products with a percentage strength. We believe it can cause confusion with products from other suppliers. Some suppliers state a percentage which relates to the amount of hemp oil in their products, rather than the actual percentage of CBD.

Our products are made from cannabidiol (CBD) distillate, which is highly refined. Some suppliers use hemp oil, which isn’t refined and contains plant oils that dilute the strength of the CBD and produce a poor flavour. As a result, percentages stated on their packaging may not directly relate to the amount of CBD (e.g. 5% doesn’t necessarily mean the product contains 500mg of CBD).

We are extremely passionate about our products, and have worked to ensure that they are stronger, better value and taste a lot better than other similar products on the market.

Which CBD Oil Concentration Should I Choose?

The optimal dosage for CBD differs from person to person and can depend on several factors including body weight, height and tolerance. If you’re new to CBD however, we recommend starting with a lower concentration at 1-2 drops per day. Continue at a lower concentration for at least 2 weeks to observe how it works for you. If after 2 weeks you aren’t experiencing your desired benefits, consider increasing your servings or moving up to a higher concentration.

Dosage Recommendations for CBD Oil Drops

  • 50mg Concentration: Best for those who are curious about CBD and want to try our different flavours
Tip: Try our 3 x 50mg bottle multipack to save 23% and pick & mix from our four great-tasting flavours.
  • 200mg Concentration: Ideal for those who are just starting out on their CBD journey.
  • 400mg Concentration: The next step if you’ve used CBD before and know what works for you.
Tip: If you have been using 200mg concentration and are taking more than 6 drops per day, we recommend moving up to 400mg to half the number of drops you need to take.
  • 800mg Concentration: Our highest concentration, for experienced users of CBD who find that they need to take a larger number of drops of lower concentration oils. For these users, this product will be more cost-effective as less drops will be required.

Which Strength CBD Capsules Should I Choose?

If you’re completely new to CBD, we would recommend starting off with our 10mg strength capsules. We recommend one capsule per day and that you trial taking them for around east a week before you decide whether you may need our high strength 25mg capsules.

Can I Drive After Taking CBD?

CBD does not have any psychoactive effects; however you may find that CBD oil makes you feel a little tired or sleepy. If you’re trying CBD oil for the first time, we recommend that you take your first dose when you won’t need to drive or operate machinery for a few hours.

Will CBD Show Up in a Drugs Test?

Different drugs tests may look for different substances, however CBD wouldn’t normally be tested for in a drugs test as it is legal and doesn’t have any psychoactive effects.

Most tests look for THC which is only present in very trace amounts in CBD products (less than 0.2%) so, unless you’re taking a high quantity of CBD at very high concentration and the tests are looking for THC in the blood, it wouldn’t trigger a positive result. We would recommend that if you are subject to mandatory drugs tests through your employment for example, you check to see which specific substances are tested for.
