So, you’ve heard of CBD oil and would like to try it? If you are not sure where to start, we’ve put together the following guide to buying CBD oil.
How to Buy CBD Oil: Choose Your Strength, Choose Your Flavour
Choose Your Strength
The best way to get started with OK CBD Oil Drops is to first choose which concentration of CBD you need.
Unlike many suppliers, we don’t advertise our CBD products by % strength as we feel this is misleading. We go into our reasons for this in more detail in this article. Instead, we label our products in milligram strength. Our oil drops are available in 200mg, 400mg and 800mg strengths and our capsules in 10mg or 25mg strengths.
If you are new to CBD, you might wish to start with a lower strength, we recommend 200mg, and increase this gradually as required. If after trialling a lower strength you find that you need to take more than a 3 or 4 drops of oil each day, you may then wish to change to a higher strength oil. This will save you money in the long term as you will need to take less drops to achieve the same effect.
Under the section below ‘How to Calculate Your CBD Oil Dose’, we illustrate the approximate concentration of CBD per drop, per strength in the OK CBD Oil range.
Choose Your Flavour
CBD oils without any added flavourings have a rather distinctive, earthy taste, with an added oily flavour from the carrier oil used in the product. Many find the taste somewhat unpleasant, therefore we have added flavourings to our products in order to make them a pleasure to use.
Our three fantastic flavours include orange, summer berry and spearmint.
Instructions For Use
To take OK CBD oil drops, shake the bottle then, using the dropper, place 1 to 2 drops under your tongue and hold them there for 60 to 90 seconds. This is known as ‘sub-lingual’ absorption and is the most effective method of taking CBD oil.
If you feel you need to, you can gradually build up the dose. It’s better to start off with a lower dose and increase if required, as the effects can vary based on many different factors including weight, metabolism, body chemistry and your reasons for taking CBD.
Start With A Lower Strength & Dosage
As everybody’s biochemistry is different, the therapeutic effects of CBD can be different from one person to another. Therefore, we always recommend starting with a lower strength and dosage. Although it doesn’t take long for CBD to be absorbed by your body (around 40-60 minutes if taking it sublingually), we would also recommend making sure that you take it consistently for at least a week to gauge the effects. Once you have a better idea of how CBD works for you, you can then adjust your strength or dosage accordingly.
Our flavoured CBD tongue drops are available in three strengths; 200mg, 400mg and 800mg. If you’re not sure which CBD strength to buy, we’ve put together the following guide to help you choose a strength and work out your optimal dosage.
How to Calculate Your CBD Oil Dose
Our CBD oil tongue drops come in 15ml bottles. We recommend starting with a dosage of 1-2 drops twice daily. Each bottle therefore contains up to 300 doses of CBD oil at 0.05ml per drop.
When you look at the label on a bottle of our CBD oil drops, you’ll see the total amount of CBD that the bottle contains. Divide that amount by 300 to determine how much CBD is in each drop. Using that formula, we find that:
- 200mg: 0.67mg cannabidiol per drop
- 400mg: 1.33mg cannabidiol per drop
- 800mg: 2.67mg cannabidiol per drop
How Much CBD Oil Should I Take?
That’s one of the most common questions our customers ask us before they buy CBD oil for the first time. When you research CBD oil dosages online, you’ll find a variety of different answers from self-proclaimed CBD “experts” who call themselves such simply because they either use or sell CBD. Although anecdotal evidence may be helpful in determining your ideal CBD dose, it’s important to remember that any suggestions you might find online are just that – suggestions.
Why is it so hard to find the right CBD oil mg strength? It’s because CBD oil isn’t a medication; it’s a supplement. CBD oil therefore has no universally recommended dose. Remember also that the proper CBD oil dose for any individual depends on several factors including the individual’s weight and body chemistry.
Because CBD oil isn’t a medication – and we don’t market it as such – you will not find specific CBD oil dosage recommendations here. What we can do, though, is arm you with the information necessary to help you determine your ideal CBD dose on your own. The Digestive System Processes CBD Slowly
When you take our CBD oil drops, we recommend holding the oil under your tongue for 60-90 seconds before swallowing it. Holding the oil under your tongue allows your body to absorb the CBD sublingually.
Any CBD remaining in the oil is processed by your digestive system. Since it can take the digestive system up to 90 minutes to metabolise anything you eat, you should start with a low CBD oil dose until you become familiar with how CBD interacts with your body. Increase your dose gradually until you achieve the desired effect.
CBD Has No Known Toxic Dose
Medical research on the effects and potential risks of CBD are still ongoing. So far, though, researchers have not discovered any dose of CBD that is dangerous or toxic to humans – so you can feel free to experiment until you find the dose that works for you.
